We have all received a calling from Jesus to work as apart of the body of Christ.
Some of us may be ministers, some of us may be choir members or musicians, and there are some of us that work in the nursery or teach Sunday School. Some serve and prepare dinners. Some clean the bathrooms and some hold doors. Whatever it may be, we all have a calling.
Ephesians 4:1-3 says,
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing on another in love:
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling”
We all do different things to work as apart of the body of Christ.
But I believe we all have one job in common. That is to minister to others and show them God’s love. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5, “ Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” Jesus gave us many callings, but our ultimate calling is to reach people and show them God’s love. We must keep our focus on Jesus and center everything in our lives on him.
Are walking in a life worthy of what God has called us to do?
