what we believe

short version

God is real. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and totally in charge. He is One: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created everything and every person matters deeply to him. Everyone has sinned, so everyone needs Jesus, who died for our sins, rose again from the dead, and is coming back. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation comes by obedience to the Gospel and experiencing the New Birth.

Heaven and hell are real, as are angels and demons, including Satan. The Holy Spirit is real and empowers and gifts us to live and minister. The Bible, which is God’s Word, is both true and powerful. Baptism is when believers are immersed in water, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Communion is a memorial to Jesus’ death. Jesus started the church before His death, protects it through every age, and commissioned the church to tell the world about Him. And no matter what, there is always hope.

long version

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. It is 100% true in all that it teaches, containing within it no error or contradictions. It is our only authority for what we believe and how we live.

  • We believe there is only one God who created of Heaven, Earth and all living beings. The One God has revealed Himself to us as our Father (Creator), in the Son Jesus Christ (Savior), and through the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit). Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that is, the One God manifested in and through an authentic human life. To see Jesus is to see God.

  • We believe in Jesus Christ’s command to go and preach the gospel and strive to live and share it with compassion, love and mercy.

  • We believe everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

  • We believe the gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the gospel.

  • We believe that we obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin), being baptized in water in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (burial) and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). Through this we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This threefold experience is the consistent pattern of conversion in the early church.

  • We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with initial sign of speaking in other tongues, as God gives the utterance.

  • We believe God loves us too much to leave us the way we are. Once you experience salvation through the gospel or New Birth, transformation begins. As Christians we are to love God and love others. We are to worship God and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly. We are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the church today and are available to all believers. God ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, and healing.

  • We believe Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away his church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death.
